Alone with God

When you pray gather up your whole self, enter with your Beloved into the chamber of your heart, and there remain alone with him, forgetting all exterior concerns; and there remain aloft with all your love and all your mind, your affections, your desires and devotion. -St. Bonaventure

Quinoa Breakfast...
1 servingIngredients:

1/2 cup Quinoa
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1 1/2 cup Almond Milk
1/2 cup Water
2 Tbsp Raw Honey ( I would skip this and add fruit instead)
1 tsp vanilla
pinch Sea Salt

Directions:

Heat saucepan over medium heat. Add quinoa, spice with cinnamon. Cook until roasted, stirring frequently, right around 3 minutes. Add almond milk, water, honey, vanilla, salt. Bring to boil then reduce heat until porridge is thick and seeds are tender, about 25 minutes.Add more water if needed, stir frequently so it don't burn. Optional: Add a topping such as berries, I like to also mix almond butter in there as well occasionally.
Here are a few egg recipes............ YES THEY ARE GOOD FOR YOU!

"People somehow have not evolved beyond a prehistoric fear of scarcity. As Christians, though, we take heart in knowing our God's providential love for us. If we stay close to the Lord who feeds us and nourishes us each day, we can't go too far astray." From Live Simply.

SO MANY AWESOME SAYINGS...............

Week 3 of September Sacrifice whether you are keeping track of points or not I know it is on your mind and if it is not MAKE IT BE ON YOUR MIND. Start now for OCTOBER. Colder weather, hibernation mode... what are your goals. Write them down now and share them with someone. Better yet share them here... then we can help you be accountable. I have extended my goals to November 9th the day before my birthday in the hopes of being able to say... I nailed my goals and I am a better person for it. So what are you waiting for? Forget your pride, forget your fears, you cannot grow stronger physically, spiritually or personally without goals. Make them NOW!
I am always here to help and listen! Trust me I have my own girl who is keeping me accountable and I check in with her EVERYDAY, good days and bad days!

Sign up for next week and please note... the first week of OCTOBER, October 1-5th we will not have bootcamp, I have jury duty and unless I get out for some reason we will not have classes.
I may have a couple evenings if people are interested.

Caring for Our Bodies
We must take a holistic approach to caring for our wellness, viewing all three pillars—physical, emotional, and spiritual—as equally important.

Week one is done... how is everyone doing and if you are not doing the September Sacrifice... why not? What are you afraid of? Failure? You will fail, many times but then you will get back up and start again! I made it two days then caved for some peanut butter. I did not sweat it, it was a treat I had at my moms and I told myself if I just stick to being able to have it there 1-2 times a week then I am good to go. I just cannot touch it at home! As it sends me into a down word spiral of peanut butter addiction! HA, ha, kind of. We all have our vices. We have foods or drinks or behaviors that tempt us. Things that prevent us from being the best version of ourselves. So what are they and why do you still have them in your lives... I am talking about food, beverage, people... yes even people. You want to surround yourself with people who are helping you to be the best version of yourself and nothing less. If they are not then they are just bringing you down. Think about it! It is a good lesson for adults as well as children. Choose your friends wisely! We cannot choose our family members, in laws and all but we can choose our friends. Imagine life surrounding yourself with those who are constantly building you up and praying for you! One in particular stands out... yes I mean the big GOD. He is always there for you and trust me when I tell you He, hears you. He listens and He does grant what you ask. You may not think so sometimes and you may thing WHY is He is doing this to me....... Trust me God knows what we need way more than what we do, no matter what we think.
Lean on HIM, talk to him, ask for help from Him. It may seem awkward at first but soon it will become natural and you will wonder why you did not do it a long time ago!
Ok I am done.... this is my Father in me... the little evangelist!

So as we move into colder temperatures and more clothes what are your new fitness goals going to be? Hibernation and 10 pounds? Or are you going to work hard and get out there despite the cooler temperatures and be active. Choose to make wise choices during the Iowa State and Iowa Games? Tailgating??? You actually can do it healthy believe it or not!
In comments share your list of healthy things you can bring to a tailgate or even a party...

In the meantime here are some more recipes to try.

We will keep up with classes and plan to do so even with cooler temps and darkness.
Please sign up for next week!

So how are you doing?
I know you have all thought about the Sacrifices and if you have not it is not too late to start.
Pick 3. One act to do daily to increase your spiritual life. 2. One food or drink to avoid that you just don't need or is a temptation to you. 3. One weakness or exercise that you need to work on.
Learning self discipline will do wonders for you, you will realize how strong you really are and it will apply to every aspect in your life. Saying no will be easier and easier, pray or not cussing will become easier and easier, those darn pushups or pullups will too with daily practice and discipline. So don't no do it because you are scared to fail. You will fail... over and over again but getting back up and starting again is what will make you stronger in all that you do. Put away your pride. Accept the challenge and rediscover the amazing possibilities you have.

For those interested below is a link to 3 minute daily retreats... short bible reflection and reminders to keep your priorities in order for the day. They are really awesome and can be put on your phones too!
Enjoy!

Sign up for next weeks classes. I am begging you......... please sign up no later than Friday. I plan on the weekends and need to know who is coming, I have also had to cancel classes and reschedule due to lack of response in time. We have the luxury of no monthly fees for classes so you can come as you please, I do think because everyone schedule is different but it is important to let me know if you are coming so that we can keep a schedule. I don't think that is asking too much as I send out the blog on Tuesday! Chasing after some of your becomes very tedious and frustrating. So please take 1 minute each week and just let me know if you want to come. Please!

Tank orders are in! I will let you know when they arrive.
Don't forget the Loaded 5K September 12th.
Classes Next Week.
